Effective: March 27, 2002 Latest Legislation: Senate Bill 5 - 124th General Assembly (A) If, after a petition for annexation is filed with the board of county commissioners, one or more other petitions are filed containing all or a part of the territory contained in the first petition, the board shall hear and decide the petitions in the order in which they were filed.(B) The effect of granting any petition under division (A) of this section shall be to delete from any subsequently filed petition any territory contained in the petition that was granted.(C) If two or more petitions for annexation are filed seeking to annex part or all of the same territory and appeals are subsequently filed under section 709.07 of the Revised Code, each court shall decide the appeal on the first-filed petition before considering the appeal in any subsequently filed petition.
