Effective: October 1, 1953 Latest Legislation: House Bill 1 - 100th General Assembly The legislative authority of a municipal corporation may grant permission, by ordinance, to any corporation, individual, or company, owning or having the right to construct a street railway, to extend the track, subject to the laws relating to the construction, operation and extension of street railways, within or without, or partly within or without any municipal corporation, on any street where the legislative authority deems such extension beneficial to the public. The charge for carrying passengers on such extended railway and its connections made with any other railway, by consolidation, shall not be increased by reason of such extension or consolidation.
