Effective: October 1, 1953 Latest Legislation: House Bill 1 - 100th General Assembly The director of public service shall, when necessary, institute suits in the name of the city to recover the possession of burial grounds, remove trespassers therefrom, and recover damages for injuries thereto or to any tombstone or monument therein. He shall see that all laws and ordinances passed for the protection of public burial grounds and cemeteries, and the burial of the dead, are enforced.
