Effective: March 24, 2021 Latest Legislation: House Bill 340 - 133rd General Assembly (A) The prosecuting attorney of a county in which there is a soil and water conservation district is the legal adviser of the district. The prosecuting attorney is the legal counsel of such district in all civil actions brought by or against it and shall conduct all such actions in the prosecuting attorney's official capacity. The board of supervisors of a district may also employ such attorneys as may be necessary or desirable in the operations of the district. (B) The prosecuting attorney of a lead county that is represented on a joint board of supervisors created under section 940.34 of the Revised Code is the legal advisor of the joint board in all civil actions brought by or against the joint board. The prosecuting attorney shall conduct all such actions in the prosecuting attorney's official capacity. The joint board may employ other attorneys as may be necessary or desirable in the operations of the joint board.
