Effective: October 17, 2011 Latest Legislation: House Bill 229 - 129th General Assembly (A) The chief of the division of animal health, appointed by the director of agriculture under sections 121.04 and 121.05 of the Revised Code, shall be a veterinarian accredited and licensed to practice in this state. (B) The chief shall promote and protect the livestock, poultry, and other animal interests of the state, prevent the spread of dangerously contagious or infectious disease, provide for the control and eradication of such disease, and cooperate with the United States department of agriculture in such work.
