Effective: January 1, 1973 Latest Legislation: House Bill 1138 - 109th General Assembly All weighing facilities operated under the 'Packers and Stockyards Act of 1921,' 42 Stat. 159, 7 U.S.C.A. 181 as amended, shall be maintained and operated in accordance with rules of the United States department of agriculture; and all other such weighing facilities shall be maintained and operated in accordance with rules of the state department of agriculture. All such weighing facilities not regularly inspected and tested as required by the United States department of agriculture under the 'Packers and Stockyards Act of 1921,' 42 Stat. 159, 7 U.S.C.A. 181 as amended, shall be inspected and tested under the supervision of the state department once every six months in accordance with rules of the state department. In the event the state department finds, after proper inspection and test, that such weighing facilities are defective it may condemn and seal such weighing facilities and prevent their further use until repairs or renewals have been made to its full satisfaction. The department may utilize the inspection facilities, services, and personnel performing similar functions under the
