Effective: September 28, 2018 Latest Legislation: House Bill 506 - 132nd General Assembly All of the following are not required to obtain a license under this chapter or comply with any other requirements of this chapter and rules adopted under it: (A) Medical kennels for dogs ; (B) Research kennels for dogs ; (C) Animal shelters for dogs that are operated by a municipal corporation or by a county under Chapter 955. of the Revised Code ; (D) Animal shelters for dogs that are operated by a humane society; (E) Veterinarians that provide clinical care and are not engaged in the practice of dog breeding.
