Effective: December 29, 2023 Latest Legislation: Senate Bill 131 - 134th General Assembly (A)(1) No person shall act as or perform the functions of a dog broker in this state without a dog broker license issued by the director of agriculture in accordance with this section and rules adopted under section 956.03 of the Revised Code. (2) The director shall not issue a license under this section unless the director determines that the applicant will act as or perform the functions of a dog broker in accordance with this chapter and rules adopted under it. (B) A person who is proposing to act as or perform the functions of a dog broker shall submit an application for a license to the director. During the month of December, but before the first day of January of the next year, a person who is proposing to continue to act as or perform the functions of a dog broker shall obtain a license from the director for the following year. (C) The director shall issue a dog broker license in accordance with Chapter 4796. of the Revised Code to a person if either of the following applies: (1) The person holds a license in another state.

(2) The person has satisfactory work experience, a government certification, or a private certification as described in that chapter as a dog broker in a state that does not issue that license.
