The withholding of cardiopulmonary resuscitation from a person in accordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma Do-Not-Resuscitate Act shall not, for any purpose, constitute suicide or homicide. The withholding of cardiopulmonary resuscitation from a person in accordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma Do-Not-Resuscitate Act, however, shall not relieve any individual of responsibility for any civil or criminal acts that may have caused the person's condition. Nothing in the Oklahoma Do-Not-Resuscitate Act shall be construed to legalize, condone, authorize, or approve mercy killing or assisted suicide. Added by Laws 1997, c. 327, § 13, eff. Nov. 1, 1997.
