(1) A person commits the crime of unlawful gambling in the second degree if the person knowingly:\n(a) Places a bet with a bookmaker; or\n(b) Participates or engages in unlawful gambling as a player.\n(2) Unlawful gambling in the second degree is a Class A misdemeanor.
