(1) The Department of Public Safety Standards and Training shall by rule designate one or more accrediting bodies for law enforcement agencies in this state with 35 or more sworn police officers.\n(2)(a) No later than July 1, 2025, each law enforcement agency in this state with 100 or more sworn police officers must be accredited by an accrediting body designated by the department under subsection (1) of this section.\n(b) No later than July 1, 2026, each law enforcement agency in this state with 35 or more sworn police officers must be accredited by an accrediting body designated by the department under subsection (1) of this section.
