As used in ORS 253.500 to 253.640, 'military or overseas elector' means a resident of this state absent from the place of residence and:\n(1) Serving in the Armed Forces of the United States or who has been discharged from the Armed Forces of the United States for not more than 30 days;\n(2) Serving in the Merchant Marine of the United States or who has been discharged from the Merchant Marine of the United States for not more than 30 days; or\n(3) Temporarily living outside the territorial limits of the United States and the District of Columbia.
