For the purpose of federal loan forgiveness programs offered to teachers, the type of school where a teacher teaches shall be determined as follows:\n(1) The school shall be considered a secondary school if the school offers instruction in:\n(a) Grades 6 through 12, or any part thereof; or\n(b) Kindergarten through grade 12, or any part thereof, but the teacher is employed for the purpose of teaching any grade from grade 6 through 12.\n(2) The school shall be considered an elementary school if the school offers instruction in:\n(a) Kindergarten through grade 5, or any part thereof; or\n(b) Kindergarten through grade 12, or any part thereof, but the teacher is employed for the purpose of teaching any grade from kindergarten through grade 5.
