Ask AI about this
(1) The Director of the Oregon Youth Authority is solely responsible for determining which persons committed to, or placed in the custody of, the youth authority are eligible to participate in, and are accepted for, a regional youth accountability camp. The juvenile court may recommend to the Oregon Youth Authority that an adjudicated youth be placed in a regional youth accountability camp, but the recommendation is not binding on the youth authority.\n(2) In determining whether to place a person in a regional youth accountability camp, the Director of the Oregon Youth Authority must find that the person is physically and mentally able to withstand the rigors of the program or that the program can be modified to accommodate a person’s physical or mental limitations. If the Director of the Oregon Youth Authority determines that a person’s acceptance into a regional youth accountability camp is consistent with the safety of the community, the welfare of the person, the objectives of the regional youth accountability camp and the rules of the youth authority, the Director of the Oregon Youth Authority may place the person into the program.
