(1) Except as provided in subsection (2) of this section:\n(a) If a person has been convicted of a felony related to a controlled substance under state or federal law, the person is ineligible for a license under ORS 571.281 to grow hemp issued by the State Department of Agriculture for 10 years following the date of the person’s conviction.\n(b) If a licensee or an applicant, or a person related to the applicant as described in ORS 571.287 (2)(e), is convicted of a felony related to a controlled substance under state or federal law, the department may deny, revoke or refuse to renew a grower license under ORS 571.281 during the 10 years following the date of conviction.\n(2) This section does not apply to a person who was registered to grow hemp with the department before October 31, 2019.
