The Legislative Assembly finds that it is in the best interest of this state to:\n(1) Reduce the amount of mercury in lighting that contains mercury; and\n(2) Continue to work with federal, state and local government agencies as well as manufacturers, retailers and others to expand opportunities for consumers to recycle lighting that contains mercury.
