Section 11901 - Power to make and regulate contracts

(a) General rule.--Each city may execute contracts for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this part and the laws of this Commonwealth. In addition to and consistent with the requirements of this chapter, council shall, by ordinance, provide for and regulate the procedures for the award of all contracts, including the purchase of supplies and materials. (b) Real and personal property.--Contracts for the sale of real and personal property shall conform to the provisions of section 12402.1 (relating to city property and affairs).
