(a) Applicability.--The Pennsylvania Construction Code Act and the Uniform Construction Code adopted under section 301 of the Pennsylvania Construction Code Act shall apply to the construction, alteration, repair and occupancy of the buildings and structures within a city. (b) Construction.--This chapter and an ordinance, rule or regulation adopted under this chapter shall not supersede or abrogate the Pennsylvania Construction Code Act or the Uniform Construction Code and shall be construed and read in pari materia with them.
