In counties of the second class, the following shall apply: (1) The salary of the solicitor to the medical examiner shall be determined by the salary board. The salary shall be paid from the fees received and paid into the office of the coroner. (2) Costs and expenses incurred by the coroner in a manner connected with litigation or claims arising out of or relating to the coroner's office shall be paid by the county from fees received by the coroner's office.
