Section 9533 - Additional personnel

For the purposes of carrying out the duties of the office of independent counsel, the independent counsel may appoint, fix the compensation and assign the duties of the employees the independent counsel considers necessary, including, but not limited to, investigators, attorneys and necessary experts to assist with the criminal investigation. The positions of these employees are exempted from the competitive service. Employees shall be compensated at levels not to exceed those payable for comparable positions in the Office of Attorney General. Cross References.
