Section 9540 - Custody of records of independent counsel

(a) Transfer of records.--Upon termination of the office of independent counsel, that independent counsel shall transfer to the Bureau of the Pennsylvania State Archives of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission all records which have been created or received by that office. Before this transfer, the independent counsel shall clearly identify which of these records are subject to the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure as grand jury materials. (b) Maintenance, use and disposal of records.--Records transferred to the Bureau of the Pennsylvania State Archives under this section shall be maintained, used and disposed of as provided by law.
