\n(a) General rule.--\nThe commission shall have the authority to employ or contract with licensed veterinarians, stewards and other personnel deemed appropriate by the commission to serve at each horse race meeting conducted by a licensed racing entity. The commission may employ or contract with other individuals as shall be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this section.\n(b) Costs and compensation.--\nThe costs and compensation of the horse racing veterinarians, State stewards and other personnel shall be fixed and paid by the commission.
