The department may by regulation prescribe EMS vehicle and service standards for EMS vehicles and services not specified in this chapter. If the department establishes standards in this section, an EMS agency license shall be required to operate the EMS vehicle or provide the service, and an EMS agency may not operate the vehicle or provide the service unless approved to do so by the department. Effective Date. Section 9(1) of Act 37 of 2009 provided that section 8138 shall take effect 180 days after the publication of the notice in section 7.
