Section 9102 - Purpose and intent

The General Assembly finds and declares as follows: (1) The Commonwealth intends to maintain the Commonwealth's sovereignty over the regulation of health insurance in this Commonwealth. (2) The health insurance marketplace in this Commonwealth is unique and unlike the marketplace in any other state. (3) It is necessary to maintain the Commonwealth's sovereignty over the regulation of health insurance in this Commonwealth as permitted by Federal law, including the Federal acts. The provisions of this part are intended to meet these requirements while retaining the Commonwealth's authority to regulate health insurance in this Commonwealth.
