(a) Requirement.--Owners and operators of gathering lines shall comply with section 2(5)(i.1) of the act of December 10, 1974 (P.L.852, No.287), referred to as the Underground Utility Line Protection Law. (b) Definition.--As used in this section, the term 'gathering line' means a pipeline used to transport natural gas from a production facility to a transmission line. Special Provisions in Appendix. See section 4(3)(xi) of Act 13 of 2012 in the appendix to this title for special provisions relating to continuation of prior law.
