Section 6306 - Costs for summary offenses

(a) General rule.--Except as provided in subsection (c), costs for summary offenses shall be established by general rule pursuant to Chapter 17 of Title 42 (relating to governance of the system). (b) Costs of removing vehicle.--(Reserved). (c) Parking violations in first class cities.--The costs normally imposed for a summary parking violation of this title or of a parking ordinance shall be waived in the following situations: (1) When the defendant has been issued a parking ticket and he remits the fine within eight days of the parking ticket's issuance. (2) When the defendant, who has not been previously issued a parking ticket for the alleged parking violation, has been issued a citation and he remits the fine within eight days of the citation's issuance. If the fine is remitted by mail, then a remittance postmarked within the eight-day period shall be considered as meeting the requirements of this subsection. The provisions of this subsection shall only be applicable to summary parking violations occurring in cities of the first class.
