When the parties reach an agreement on support, it shall be submitted to the Examiner for his/her approval according to the Mandatory Guides to Fix and Modify Support Payments in Puerto Rico, adopted as provided in this chapter. Nevertheless, the Examiner at his/her discretion, may direct that an informal hearing be conducted to verify that the needs of the obligee shall be properly met and that the obligor is able to comply with the stipulations.When an agreement is reached prior to initiating the procedure before the Examiner, or in those cases which are under consideration by a Judge of the Court of First Instance, the support agreement that is reached shall be submitted directly to the judge for his/her approval.
