The consumer and user of assistive technology equipment shall have the following rights and duties:(1) To ensure that the manufacturer, supplier, distributor, authorized dealer, or authorized lessor guarantees that the equipment and its components, parts and systems are in working order.(2) To file petitions or complaints related to the assistive technology equipment he/she acquires or is being provided.The consumer shall always have the right to seek legal counsel under subsections (g) and (h) of §§ 532g and 532h of Title 3, [known as the] 'Office of the Disabled Persons Investigative Official Act'.(3) The consumer, parent, guardian or person in charge shall be responsible for procuring and obtaining the documents pertaining to the guarantee covering the assistive technology equipment when any such equipment is being transferred.Should the equipment malfunction in any way within the term of its guarantee, the consumer, parent, guardian or person in charge shall be responsible for notifying said fact to the manufacturer, supplier, distributor, authorized dealer, or authorized lessor.
