The Department of Education is hereby authorized to become a provider of child care and development services in those schools or facilities that have the infrastructure required to render this kind of service. The Department of Education shall evaluate and prepare an inventory of the need for care services for boys and girls, for each school district under its jurisdiction. This information shall be shared with the Department of the Family for this agency to be able to make a projection of the need for the service at short, medium and long-term, as well as the projections for fund appropriation and distribution.
