The plans shall combine the following elements:(1) Formal studies with academic credits in teaching and related areas, in areas related to the teacher’s specialty, in higher education institutions accredited or recognized in Puerto Rico;(2) hours of participation in continuing education activities organized by the Department, approved by it or by the Continuing Evaluation Committee;(3) practice teaching in their area of specialization, and(4) academic and non-academic activities, of value for the school, the students, and the community, such as the development of research projects, organization of student activities, rendering of guidance services to students and their parents, offering of training sessions to the teaching personnel of the school, and special attention to students who are lagging, or students who have high academic [achievement].
