The maximum approved budget applicable to each grade for the purchase of textbooks required for each school year shall be compulsory for each private school. Notwithstanding the provisions of preceding sections, in the case of schools that impart religious doctrines, none of the provisions of §§ 157—160 of this title authorizes the parent association, council or assembly to limit or interfere in any way as to the books or texts of religious content assigned.
