Notwithstanding the provisions of § 714 of this title, the Scientific Committee of the Medical Association of Puerto Rico may divide the prize granted in §§ 713—717 of this title into two (2) or more prizes, on the supposition that the nature of the works submitted for its consideration, may merit the division of the total prize.
