(a) The University of Puerto Rico, private universities, higher education institutions, and municipalities shall comply with the following:\n(1) Develop a process to identify the availability of physical space and particular needs such as special equipment, personnel training, and stakeholders.\n(2) Acquire assisted technology equipment and furniture, make the necessary infrastructure modifications, and take the necessary steps to train human resources in assistive technology in order to facilitate access to the inclusive library services offered by the institution to persons with disabilities.\n(3) Implement the inclusive assistive technology library services.\n(4) Collect annual statistical data regarding inclusive assistive technology library services.\n(b) The Assistive Technology Program shall have the following duties and responsibilities, among others:\n(1) Offer technical assistance services to all libraries in the campuses of higher education institutions and municipalities that offer library services to persons with disabilities.\n(2) Adopt financial support agreements with universities and municipalities in order for them to defray technical assistance costs.\nHistory
