In order to insure faithful compliance with the objectives and provisions of this chapter, the Council for the Protection of Archaeological Lands Patrimony of Puerto Rico is hereby created, attached to the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, hereinafter denominated the 'Council'. This shall be the government body responsible for protecting and keeping these archaeological resources while promoting a scientific inventory and the study of these archaeological values in harmony with the public policy of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.\nHistory —July 20, 1988, No. 112, p. 459, § 2.
