Any natural or juridical person who operates a private educational institution as defined in this subchapter without the proper license provided therein shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished with a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500). In the event that a private educational institution covered by this subchapter persists or insists on operating without the license after being admonished about it by the Secretary of Education, the latter may resort to the Court of First Instance of Puerto Rico and obtain an injunction against said institution, its promoters or its officials, who shall be subject to all the legal consequences provided by law.\nHistory —May 10, 1976, No. 31, p. 78, added as § II-14 on June 30, 1988, No. 49, p. 220, § 2.
