The Manager of the State Insurance Fund is hereby empowered to exempt any employer from the payment of premiums on the salaries of the technical personnel he may employ, for a period which shall not exceed two (2) years, if there be satisfactory evidence that such employees are, and shall continue to be, protected against labor accidents and occupational diseases during such period of time under the statutes of the jurisdiction where their services are hired, or under any law or contract if in the opinion of the Manager such statutes or contracts provide benefits comparable to those provided by §§ 1—42 of this title, known as the Workmen’s Accident Compensation Act of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or greater benefits.
