Puerto Rican society is in constant evolution. The quickening pace of daily life takes from the opportunity and the quality of our spare time. In order to meet the challenges posed by this growing trend, it is indispensable to adopt recreational concepts within the framework of our values and skills of social conviviality—even more so, since the game of dominoes is economical and may also promote economic activity. We therefore declare the game of dominoes to be the official game of Puerto Rico. We thus reassert our statement of public policy in recognizing the value of the game of dominoes as part of our culture and our tradition as a people. History —Nov. 9, 2010, No. 168, § 1.
