It shall be an illegal practice of recreational or sports organizations which organize and/or sponsor competitive events and which receive public funds, with the exception of the Olympic Committee of Puerto Rico:(a) To establish differences in the awards or material benefits which, in fact, directly or indirectly produce, or intend to produce, communicate or promote the less recognition or a recognition of lesser importance towards the women who participate as compared to that to the men, by unfavorably or unjustly discriminating against the former when both participate in the same category.
