Any sponsor or organizer who is found to have incurred the illegal practices described in § 542 of this title, is subject to:(a) The payment of a penalty for a sum equal to double the amount of the damages caused to the woman or collective entity of sportswomen by the action.(b) The payment of a penalty of not less than three hundred dollars ($300) at the discretion of the Secretary, in those cases in which monetary damages cannot be ascertained.
