For the purposes of §§ 55a—55h of this title there shall be considered as foodstuffs or products produced in the country everything obtained for human consumption from the practice of agriculture and from the cattle industry in all its branches, including apiculture and aviculture and all products derived from any of said activities, either fresh or in any manner elaborated or preserved. Said terms shall also include products of local fishing in fresh water and fresh fish, mollusks and crustaceans caught in salt waters by Puerto Rican fishing boats and brought to the Island for their consumption or elaboration.
