If upon the expiration of the contract the cropper continues to cultivate the farm for thirty (30) days with the acquiescence of the landholder, it shall be understood that the contract has been renewed for a term equal to that of the original contract or for the term established in § 203 of this title, unless previous demand has been made to the contrary.
