Any participant who enrolled for the first time in the System on or before June 30, 2014, shall receive a refund of his/her contributions to the System, including interest thereon, upon his/her separation from service if such participant so requests and is not eligible for a retirement or disability pension. Every participant receiving a refund shall thereby forfeit and be understood as waiving all vested rights and credited service in the System. If such person is subsequently reemployed in the Judicial Branch of Puerto Rico, he/she shall become a participant of the Hybrid Program defined in § 234 of this title as if he/she has entered the Judicial Branch for the first time after July 1, 2014.
