(a) The court shall motu proprio or at the request of an interested person reduce the penalty to a term not to exceed one (1) year to any person sentenced who is serving a prison term of more than one (1) year for a misdemeanor.(b) This section shall be applicable to the persons convicted of a violation of subsection 2 of § 203 of the Penal Code of Puerto Rico.
