Every false statement maliciously made by any of those appearing, in one of the documents or instruments included in §§ 851—858 of this title, in regard to the consideration involved, shall be punishable by imprisonment in the municipal jail for a period of from one to five (5) days, or by a fine of not to exceed twenty-five dollars ($25).
