The Administration shall be under the direction of a Correctional Administrator who shall be appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate of Puerto Rico. The salary of the Administrator shall be sixty thousand dollars ($60,000) annually.\nThe Administrator shall appoint an Assistant Administrator. In the event of absence or temporary incapacity, or of death, resignation or removal of the Administrator, the Assistant Administrator shall exercise the powers and duties of the Administrator, as Acting Administrator, until the return of the Administrator or until his substitute is appointed and qualified.\nHistory —July 22, 1974, No. 116, Part 1, p. 501, § 3, retroactive to July 1, 1974.
