Upon the death of each member of the Custody Officers Corps of the Corrections Administration in honorable active service, in the line of duty or as a result thereof, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico shall pay a compensation in the amount of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) to the surviving spouse and minor children, who are full time students or disabled, or in absence thereof, to the dependent ascendants.\nHistory —Aug. 19, 1996, No. 140, § 1.
