The Administrator is hereby authorized to accept and confine in the institutions of the Administration, insofar as the powers and economic means of the Government of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico allow, those persons born in Puerto Rico who are convicted and are serving sentences in a federal correctional institution or that of any of the states of the United States of America, the District of Columbia, and the Virgin Islands, so that these convicts may finish serving their sentence term in the institutions in Puerto Rico.\nHistory —July 22, 1974, No. 116, Part 1, p. 501, § 47; July 18, 2001, No. 60, § 24.
