Notwithstanding any legal provision to the contrary, all municipalities and political subdivisions of Puerto Rico are hereby empowered to cede or transfer any property or interest thereon (including assets already dedicated to public use) to the Authority, upon its request and under reasonable terms and conditions, that the Authority deems necessary or convenient to carry out its own purposes. The Authority may transfer the necessary funds to the agencies, departments, instrumentalities, dependencies or political subdivisions, including the municipalities, of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, so that these bodies may perform the functions of construction, operation and maintenance of traffic or transportation facilities that are or may be under the jurisdiction of the Authority, as well as for acquisition of the necessary easements for these purposes, when in its judgment the Authority deems it more convenient to better comply with the purposes of this chapter.\nHistory —June 23, 1965, No. 74, p. 158, § 10; Mar. 6, 1991, No. 1, § 5.
