No insurer shall pay for the replacement, installation or repair of the airbag system of a motor vehicle unless said replacement, installation or repair is in fact made and certified by a natural or juridical person duly qualified to undertake such a task according to the specifications of the manufacturer of the vehicle. To such effects the claimant shall show the insurer proof of purchase of the components to be installed, which said proof of purchase shall include the identification numbers of said components. The claimant shall furthermore provide the insurer with the parts that were substituted together with the packaging in which said components were received.\nHistory —Nov. 7, 1999, No. 325, § 3, eff. 60 days after Nov. 7, 1999.
