It shall be the obligation of every person who performs works within the limits of the highway to place the necessary traffic-control devices approved by the Secretary to warn about the danger, such as signs, protective barriers, lights, flags or any contrivance or object warning the users to take due precautions.\nAny person who violates the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction punished by a fine of not less than ten [dollars] ($10) nor more than fifty dollars ($50) and shall be held liable for accidents occurring as a result of his action or omission in violation of this requirement.\nHistory —May 30, 1973, No. 54, p. 135, § 6-02, eff. 30 days after May 30, 1973.
